| Outdoor Weathering |
Due to the synergistic effect of intense sunlight, high ambient moisture, and high temperature, the sub-tropical region of Florida has been established as the international benchmark for outdoor weathering. Our ideal exposure conditions can accelerate weathering two to three times faster than northern locations. Sub-Tropical has been conducting outdoor weathering tests since 1929. We offer quality service and certified test results. Exposure types include: Direct Weathering per ASTM G7, Black Box per SAE J1976, Under Glass per ASTM G 24, and our Tropical Forest. For further information select "Exposure Testing" from the navigation bar at top of page. |

Panels or other materials submitted for exposure can be any size, shape, and thickness. Additionally, the samples can be adjusted to any specified angle. Common test settings include 45 degrees South for industrial applications, 5 degrees South for automotive and vertical angles for siding, mildew and algae testing. Sub-Tropical's outdoor weathering includes a unique mildew and algae inducing tropical forest. Sub-Tropical's staff members are very active in a number of committees in the weathering field, including ASTM, ISO, SAE and AATCC. |
